The Post-October 7 Surge: Is the Golden Age of American Jews Behind Us or Ahead of Us?
Fri / Jan 30 / 7:30 pm / 87th St
Dr. Jonathan Sarna and Rabbi Zuckerman
Jews have been part of America’s story from the very beginning. Is there a period in our history that could be considered a Golden Age? Has it ended? Or, with a surge in Jewish community involvement post-October 7th, are we in the midst of another one? Focusing on the post-World War II period in American history, this discussion will place the contemporary moment in a broader historical context and challenge us to think about what an American Jewish Golden Age can be.
Dr. Jonathan Sarna is the Joseph H. & Belle R. Braun Professor of American Jewish History at Brandeis University. He is also the past president of the Association for Jewish Studies and chief historian of the Weitzman National Museum of American Jewish History in Philadelphia. He is author or editor of more than 30 books on American Jewish history and life.
