The most joyous of the Jewish holidays, Purim is a day of celebration, costumes, community, and, of course, food. Purim tells the story of our people saved through the courage of Queen Esther, who risked everything to stand before the Persian king and stop Haman’s plot to destroy the Jewish people. The story is recorded in the biblical Scroll of Esther, the Megilah, which we read each year on the holiday.
There are four mitzvot or obligations associated with Purim. This year, PAS has come up with a way for you to perform two of these mitzvot – giving food gifts to friends and helping the needy – at the same time.
For $72, you can send a box of 16 kosher chocolate truffles to family or friends while also making a meaningful donation to two important causes: New York Common Pantry, which provides food and support services to New Yorkers in need, and Darca Schools, which advocates for equal educational opportunities for youth in Israel’s underserved communities.
All orders must be submitted by Tuesday, February 10 at 8:00 pm.
