Empowered Health: 'The Breast Advice’ and Understanding Jewish Genetics

Drs. Melissa Frey, Elisa Port, and Jennel Zeppieri, and Rabbi Koffman  

Approximately one in five Ashkenazi Jews carry a genetic mutation associated with increased cancer risk. A panel of members who are medical experts in breast health and genetics will speak about understanding your genetic risk and accessing testing. Dr. Melissa Frey is the director of the Genetics and Personalized Cancer Prevention Program at Weill Cornell Medicine/NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital.  

Dr. Elisa Port is chief of breast surgery for the Mount Sinai Health System and author of The Breast Advice: All You Need to Know about Breast Health, Screening, and Treatment. 

Dr. Jennel Zeppieri is a medical oncologist and assistant professor of medicine in the  Genetics and Personalized Cancer Prevention Program at Weill Cornell Medicine/NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital.
